My Berry Hibiscus tooth powder a non-abrasive all natural toothpaste alternative. It is especially good for those with sensitive gums. It is made with a food grade Bentonite Clay and Organic Hibiscus sabdariffa flower and Organic Hawthorn Berry base for flavor, with added Activated Charcoal and 5:1 Myrhh powder. You might be familiar with Hibiscus sabdariffa by some of it's other names such as Roselle or Jamaica Flower. It is tart like a sour berry and high in Vitamin C. A small amount of Organic Stevia is included to balance the tartness of the Hibiscus. The Clay and Charcoal help to detoxify and wash away bacteria from the mouth. The 5:1 Myrrh extract powder is non abrasive and helps to gently tone the gums. I have made the flavor not overly strong so that kids can also use it. My 7 year old loves this recipe, and I think it is my favorite tooth powder yet.
Because of the charcoal ingredient, you do need to take a little extra care to rinse your mouth completely, or there may be a bit of residue. It does rinse very cleanly however and leaves teeth feeling smooth. I love this formula because there is no baking soda. I have used baking soda in the past in other tooth powder formulas, and it started taking enamel off of my teeth. This tooth powder comes in a 2 oz container, and is approximately 1 oz by weight. You can pinch a small amount into your palm, and then dab your wet tooth brush onto the powder. This is all natural with no preservatives, so do not add water to the jar of dry powder.
